CAN-Bus Explained

CAN-Bus, developed by Robert Bosch, is essentially a communications network for vehicles, not dissimilar to an office computer network. Most modern vehicles are fitted with 2 or more CAN-Bus backbones, to which all devices, such as ABS, Engine Management Systems and sensors, are attached. The CAN-Bus relays digital control signals to all devices, obviating the need to have every switch or control hard wired to its corresponding device via expensive wiring looms. Every device is simply attached to the CAN-Bus and power. The result is less wiring, weight and more efficiency in vehicle design and build complexity.

    CANBUS allows the Clifford 330x to communicate with the vehicle via high speed digital data, through a twisted pair, which ensures a robust connection with minimal wiring connections to the vehicle.
    Connection to the CANBUS eliminates the need for many of the analog necessary in traditional, hard-wired, security systems cutting the installation time, in many cases, down by as much as 50%.
    CANBUS communicates with most of the electronic security and convenience systems throughout the vehicle, so the alarm remains in-sync with the vehicle at all times.
    When the vehicle is equipped with a factory security system, it works in sync with the Clifford CANBUS security system and all factory functionality is retained.

IDEAL FOR NEW CARs
    Because they are compatible with most late model vehicles, Directed CANBUS systems are ideal for New Car Dealers.
    The CANBUS interface eliminates most analog connections required by conventional security systems, so installation and set-up in most vehicles is significantly quicker and easier than a conventional hard-wired systems.
    To programming the CANBUS security system to the car, you simply turn on the ignition switch after the CANBUS wires are connected and wait 5 seconds for the LED to flash. NO door lock or parking light programming is necessary.
    Horn Honk Output can be used instead of the Siren for stealth, OEM-style installations.
    Directed Brand CANBUS security systems include unbranded packaging and manuals, making them perfect for NCD applications.

Glass Tampering Sensor

Enhance the security of any install with an optional audio sensor, which detects tampering and breaking of the vehicle’s glass using a microphone and a microprocessor, which analyzes the frequency, intensity and timing of intrusion sounds to eliminate false alarms.

Tilt Sensor

Detects even minor lifting or rolling of the vehicle without any of the false alarms common to all other tilt and motion sensors. Advanced design allows maximum stability in extreme conditions. Motion can be turned off for tilt only sensing. A must for vehicles with upgraded wheels and tires. Automatically self-adjusting.

 

Dual Proximity Sensor

This digital signal processing (DSP) radar sensor's outer perimeter warning zone provides an invisible shield up to a foot outside the closed windows and convertible top. The interior zone instantly blasts the full alarm if someone leans into the passenger compartment. Especially recommended for convertibles and other soft-sided or open vehicles.

Remote Engine Starting
Suitable for manual and automatic gearboxes, Remote engine start allows you to start the car before you get in. In the summer you can use remote start to cool the car down via its air conditioning and in the winter, use it to warm both the engine and interior. Just the touch of a button starts the engine, but leaves the doors still locked and the alarm still on.
 
   
Dual Shock Sensor
The most effective protection against shock/impact. Uses patented electromagnetic technology to eliminate mechanical parts. Two outputs are provided. The first offers a Warn Away® response on light impact and the second instantly triggers the alarm on hard impact. Draws less than 1mA. Includes the plug-in harness for all alarms with the standard 4 pin sensor input plug. Plug may be cut off harness for non-plug-in applications. Ultrasonic Sensor
Interior Movement Sensor
The Ultrasonic Sensor is used to provide coverage of a vehicle’s interior cabin area. The sensor detects movement inside the vehicle by sensing air disturbance. They should trigger the alarm if a thief has gained access to the interior of your vehicle.

SmartWindows
Remote Power Window Control
More Power to Power Windows. Open, close and vent the car's power windows using the G5 security system remote control. SmartWindows also adds extra features inside the vehicle: one tap fully open, one tap fully closed. Tap the switch during roll-up and roll-down to instantly stop the window. Vent opening is selectable via the CliffNet Wizard, and can be vented repeatedly after remote arming. The SmartWindows Safety Stop feature halts window movement if there is an obstruction.
 
   
Voice module
Add pre-programmed messages in either English or Japanese to your security system as an adjunct to the siren, including Viper specific messages (i.e. “Viper armed!”) Users can also record custom messages. Voice modules are also effective when used to generate Warn Away messages in conjunction with an optional 508D Radar sensor. The 516L can also be used as a P.A. system.
 
   
Immobiliser Bypass module for remote start

This unique device is designed to temporarily bypass most transponder type immobiliser systems when remote starting. The system works by using one of your spare keys to transmit the uniquely coded signal to the receiver coil in the key cylinder.

The key is placed inside the bypass module which is then located in a secure place under the dashboard. A lead then runs from this and loops around the ignition barrel.

The coded signal identifies to the vehicles computer that a valid key is present and thereby enabling remote starting. The unit will only operate as a bypass when the vehicle has been remote started.
